How does your media product represent particular social groups?

I created this slideshare that discusses how or product respresents different social groups, and how they are shown throughout or OTS.

The social groups change within our OTS, and different people will react in different ways to our OTS as the story goes on.

Examples from my work

This is an example of the outside mysterious looking location we were talking about in the Slideshare above. Our femme fatale is alone in this mystery location which is unconventional for film noir's as these places are usually associated with murder, rape and danger. This neo noir twist attracts a modern audience. (pg.3 of the slideshare)

This is the inside studio space, where the white walls are reflecting the light, and are casting shadows; which are conventional to film noir. This attracts the traditional audience (older generation, 30+) that are normally associated with film noir. (pg.4 of the slideshare)

The iconorgaphy of a gun is a typical convention of a film noir. The gun symbolises the gang, in particular the villian (the femme fatales boyfriend). The boy friend is a gangster, and is part of the gang who commit crimes for money. (pg.6 of the slideshare)

The mystery narrative of our OTS draws in an inteligent audience, who tend to be slightly older/middle aged, as they have become knowledgeable with age and experiance. (pg.8 of the slideshare)

The female lead is unconvention of film noir, and adds a modern twist to our OTS. This keeps the narrative and plot up to date with current audience members. (pg.9 of the slideshare)
